Dieting is now back into full swing for me and so far so good! :) In my personal opinion the most necessary aspect of a strict diet is organisation and preparation. Dieting isn't easy and the foods we need to eat aren't things you can just stop at a Drive Thru to pick up if you have nothing on you.
For myself I work a job that there is rarely time to eat if you haven't brought it with you, and have it in your ambulance for when you have a spare moment. Therefore I BETTER have all my foods prepared and packed every day I leave for work. With my schedule I work four days on, four days off. Therefore I try to prepare food every 4 days. I try to prepare 4-5 days of food before going to work. Then prepare all my food for my days off on that first day off.
That pattern is my attempt at saving time in life. Food prep takes TIME, but creating a few more salads and throwing more meat on the BBQ doesnt take any more time than doing one day's worth. The best way to do it is buy all the food you will need and prep all that food for numerous days of dieting!
Once I have all my food prepped, I pack them in containers with individual servings and place them in a refrigerator I have specifically for prepared diet foods and my 6 pack lunch kit. The night before work I take all my meals for that day and place them in my 6 pack bag, which I then have created space for in my fridge! So easy when all I have to do is grab my bag out of the fridge and head out to work or on a day full of fun, errands and gym!
